Random

I thought I would pick a random picture out of my photos to share with you. I guess you get two. I may do this every so often just to share a photo or two. I like to scrap book when time permits so of course I take lots of pictures. A lot of them never get shared until maybe now.

These pictures were taken at the Harley Davidson factory in Pennsylvania (2007). That was one of my favorite factory tours ever.

A to do list a mile long

Just so you know what is on my mind when I am trying to sleep at night. At least I am trying to get a good night's sleep since I know there will be none of that in a few months.

Paint the entry way
Finish the storage closet
Re-tile the bathroom
Fix the tiles on the kitchen floor
Purchase new washer/dryer
Pick out a new light for entry way
Buy and Hang blinds in bedroom
Chalk basement windows
Fill cracks in garage floor

Oh yeah and then all this...
Empty the Spare Bedroom (soon to be nursery)
Move bed
Paint walls
Paint trim
Paint closet doors
Hang wainscoting
Paint wainscoting
Buy and hang new blinds
Hang shelves
Set up crib
Find a bookcase
Line dresser drawers w/contact paper

Plus... work 5 days/week/full time
Attend Birthing classes
Relax and put my swollen feet up
Drink lots of water
Enjoy every day and Smile!!

I am sure I am missing a bunch of stuff but I think that list is long enough for now.
I'll keep you posted as to what gets done and when.

I will take some before and after nursery photos to share as we are working on it.

A boy and his shoes...

I bought our baby boy his first pair of shoes the other day.

I figured I would start him early enough to catch up with his dad.

About my Jeff...

Jeff and I have been dating for almost 8 years now, We met each other at a mutual friends birthday party in October 2002. We talked a lot at the party but never did we exchange numbers. I remember telling my friends and mom about Jeff the very next day and set a goal that I would contact the friends wife by the end of the week to inquire more about Jeff and hope to score his phone number. Little did I know he was thinking the same. My brother called me on Tuesday night and told me that the mutual friend of ours was just bugging him to get my number to give to Jeff. Sure enough that night he called me. I do not really remember our first conversation but we made plans to see each other that Thursday night. Jeff told me that he was playing pool Thursday night, it should not be a late night and he would call me when it was over. Funny thing is (which I found out later), was that Jeff went to pool that night and asked if he could play first so he could leave early. How sweet was that. The nice thing was that Jeff and I lived 2 blocks away from each other. I remember walking down to his house that evening. I brought over a movie to watch that night and we ended up talking thru the entire movie. We made plans to meet up again that Sunday night. That night we went to a movie (Red Dragon w/one of my favorite actors Edward Norton) and held hands during the entire movie. We then ended up at Lunds (a local grocery store) and Jeff asked what was my favorite. I of course said Italian (not one of his favorites come to find out later on) and he picked up all the ingredients and we went back to his place and he prepared a fabulous meal. I must say I was hooked. I was not letting him go anywhere.

Jeff is a wonderful guy (of course I am biased though). He is a strong individual with a big heart. I know he would do absolutely anything for me. We are the best of friends. We know how to make one another smile, we can laugh together and communicate well with one another. Jeff and I have done a lot and been though a lot with one another over these past years. I can not imagine my life without him. Thanks for being the one, babe!!

24 weeks...

Here I am at 24 weeks pregnant...

Side view...

So far I can not complain. I feel great and was fortunate to not have any morning sickness. I hear that if I made it this far I should be in the clear. (Hopefully I am not jinxing myself by writing this). I must say I was very tired in the beginning and now have gotten a little bit of my energy back. Now my poor feet tend to swell pretty bad and hurt during the evening so i am pretty much planted either on the couch or in bed with my feet up. Other than that I am doing great! Of course I have a million and one things on my mind. I'll blog about that later.

Here is what a website that I frequent (and book of theirs that I read) has to say about our growing baby at 24 weeks...
Your baby is about eight and a half inches long and weighs one and a half pounds, gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of his are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jackhammer. Also by now, that fabulous face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Is your baby a brunette, a blonde, or a redhead? Actually, right now his locks are white since there's no pigment yet.

Here I was at 12 weeks (just to give you a comparison).

About me...

This is me in New York City 2009 (Funny thing is, is that those of you who know me I hardly ever drink so seeing this in my hand is pretty rare!!)

I was born and raised in Minneapolis. Been here all my life and have no plans for leaving. I have the most fabulous mom in the world and very proud to call her my friend. My dad was wonderful, fun and loving. I lost him in February 2001. Not a day goes by that he is not near and dear in my heart. I have one brother who is almost 6 years older than I am. We are very close and always have been.

My boyfriend, the love of my life, my best friend and father of my (soon to be born) child has been in my life for close to 8 years now. I really look forward to being a family together. So if you read my welcome blog entry, he is the one who is helping to accomplish one of my dreams. I'll live with one accomplishment for now! :)

I also have a great extended family and many wonderful friends. No doubt you will hear and see more about those that are close to me on this blog.

Life is short, so live it to the fullest!!

Welcome!

I have had 3 dreams ever since I was a little girl: have kids, get married and go on a cruise. Of course I dream everyday but these three things have been on my list since I was old enough to imagine. As I write this I am half way through my first pregnancy. I could not be more excited to be on this journey! More about that later. One of my best friends from college, Jill, has blogged since her first little guy was born. Believe it or not that was 4 years ago. I have always enjoyed reading her posts and seeing her pictures. I always told myself that once I become pregnant I would start one. Well here I am blogging world!! I make no promises as to how often and what I will post but will share as much life lets me.

This is my journey, my life and my dream!! I am glad to have you along.
