Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to most important woman in my life!!
My mom is my very best friend and the one constant I have always had in my life.  She is the strongest woman I know and has a smile and laugh that brightens up any room.

She has always enjoyed the Minnehaha Falls.  This picture was taken there by the Hiawatha and Minnehaha statues.  We happened to go over there one evening last week.  Caswell ran up and down the stairs with his little legs and asked to do it again.  We all enjoyed the fresh air.

National Train Day 2013

I saw in the Pioneer Press while waiting to get dinner one night that National Train Day was coming up and they were having some festivities at the new Depot in St. Paul.  Jeff and I are always up to exploring new things so we went over there.  They said they were giving free train rides.  I was thinking it would be on an Amtrak or something.  Just wait until you see what our free train ride was.  They had all sorts of entertainment a few give aways.  Caswell loved going down the big inflatable slide.  We also got to listen to Choo Choo Bob.  They had free treats (cookies) and Amtrak was giving away wooden train whistles, hats and playing cards.

Here Jeff and Caswell are waiting for the train ride.

So this is not the best picture and I did not get one of the whole train but it was so funny.  It was a few homemade train cars being pulled by a trailer. The even funnier part is the wheels were pretty much flat.  I choose to forgo the free train ride.  I can't imagine how comfortable it was.  Caswell had fun and that's what matters most.

We saw this bus while we were waiting for train ride and thought it would be cool to check it out.  They were giving free rides around town so we hoped on having no clue where we were going.  We ended up at the St.Paul Jackson Street Roundhouse.  Before we knew it we pulled up and the driver said he would be back  in an hour.  Jeff and I looked at each other and said hey what the heck let's check it out.  As we were getting off the driver handed us a card which I did not look at until we got back on the train later.  (HAHA - it was a coupon for reduced admission to the Roundhouse - well I guess when you forgo the line and just start looking around you end up with a real good reduced rate - whoops!)

We were about to walk out and check to see if our bus was there and we heard over the loud speaker that their train was leaving in a few minutes.  We ran out back and boarded a real train.
We got a real train ride this time.

Cont. Still Roaming at the Mn Zoo - on the way to the Farm

Taking a trip down the slide at another park on our way out to the farm.

You can take a tractor ride out to the farm which of course we did.
We choose to walk back as it really is not that far away.

Caswell had to come and look at the cows a few times.  We even got to check out one getting their hair cut.

Caswell liked that he could pet the bunny.

We got to see the Three Little Pigs on the farm that day.

I love how he looks like he is concentrating so hard here "driving" the tractor.

Caswell LOVED feeding the goats.  He just giggled every time they got the food from him.

Roaming the MN Zoo on Mother's Day 2013

For the 2nd year in a row we went out to the MN Zoo on Mother's Day weekend.  They have free admission to the zoo for all Mothers and Grandmothers.  This year we decided to put our days admission towards an annual membership.   We figured we will be out here a few more times this year.  We know Caswell will love the Africa exhibit with the giraffe's and the Dinosaur's.  They have a few great parks out here as well as their splash pad in the hot summer months to cool off in.

He loved climbing all the rocks along the MN Trail.

There are so many fun places to play hide and seek in.

He had a great time at the park at the zoo.  Even Daddy got trapped in the spider web.

Our adorable little monster

Use your smile to change the world; don’t let the world change your smile.
Never regret something that once made you smile.
You are somebody’s reason to smile.
Every smile makes you a day younger.  —Chinese Proverb
