2 months old
Grandma and I brought Caswell to his 2 month check up this past Monday. He has grown almost 4 inches.
Current Height: 24 3/4 inches
Current Weight: 15.3 lbs
Thank goodness grandma was with us. Poor guy had to get 3 shots. For those of you that don't know, this mama does not like needles what so ever. Even talking about them makes me queasy. That's right... I have not written about or given details about his birth day yet.
I passed out when they gave me an IV that day. That's the first time Jeff has seen me have an "episode". It is pretty scary I guess but it all happens so fast and before you know it I am alright.
So why am I telling you this?? Well when the nurse walked in with that big tray of needles, (Ok the tray was pretty small) I had to sit down. Grandma had to comfort Caswell while he got his shots. He was a trooper.
He did not cry until the 3rd one which the nurse said was a painful one.
This mama also did her fair share of crying too. It is really hard to see or hear your baby hurt.
I knew before I had Caswell that I would not be able to watch him get his shots. I can't lie to him and say it will be ok as I may be the one needing medical attention and not him.
These last 2 months have been wonderful. He changes everyday. I love his great big smiles and what I call his "daddy face", which is a pretty serious one. He loves to move his arms all around, kick his feet up in the air and stretch. He is starting to make cute little coo's and talk to us. He loves to look around the room he is in and take it all in. Grandma says he is just like me when he does that. He loves looking at lights and listening to daddy's music too.
He amazes me everyday! I can not believe how much our lives have changed but only for the better. He has my heart and I think a lot of other peoples too. Caswell- mama loves you!!!

I could not resist this shirt...
What's behind the door?
I have been taking a belly picture every month throughout this pregnancy always wearing the same pants and shirt and always standing in front of the same door.
Well that door happens to be the door to Caswell's room. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I always knew that I did not want to do the typical nursery theme as I hope he can enjoy his room for many years to come. I just can not imagine that within a matter of days he will be home to enjoy it. So here it is...

Latest pics of my belly
Going through this with others
I'm so glad to be going on this journey with a best friend of mine (who is having her 2nd) and Jeff's sister who is having her first. We will all deliver at the same hospital.
My best friend is having a little girl joining her family. Her big brother does not know what he has coming.
Here is a picture of Tara and I on girls weekend in June.

Here is Tara and I in September.

And here is us with our good friends.
Jeff's sister is having a boy and we could not be more excited for Caswell to have a little cousin so close in age. We will see what kind of mischief they get into together over the years. Sorry no pictures of the two us. I know there will be plenty after the boys come along.

My mom and me!

I just thought I would share a few random pictures I found as I was looking at my baby pictures. One year for Christmas my mom went through all of our family photos and put together books for my brother and I. I think that was both of ours favorite gift that year. I love looking at it.
Here's loving you Mom!!
Weekend Update
I am excited to say that we have finally started working on the nursery. A few changes in plans along the way but so far so good. Of course I would like to be much further than we are but at least we are working on it. I know I am going to love it once it is all done.
I am sorry to say I do not have a "before" picture except the two shots I took when we previewed the house. So none of this is our home decor (or shall I say storage as that is all that has really been put in that room since we moved in) is ours but at least you get the drift of a before look.

I will share "after" pictures once we get all the walls and woodwork complete. Then I'll add some pictures as we fill the room up with furniture for our little guy.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Welcome to our third trimester!
I am 28 weeks into my first pregnancy. I can not believe it--2 trimesters down and 1 to go. It is amazing how fast the time has gone.
Here is what I look like now.

Jeff and I start our Birth & Parenting Preparation classes this week. l'll keep you posted as to how they go! I am usually such a reader on everything (books, manuals, instructions, etc). I always want to be in the know and knowledgable. I have only allowed myself to buy 3 books when I found out I was pregnant and have only glanced at a few websites. I have yet to hear too many horror stories. Which at this point is good. I know with these classes I will at least be prepared for anything that comes our way. All I want to do is make sure Baby and I have a safe delivery no matter how he comes into this world.

Random
I thought I would pick a random picture out of my photos to share with you. I guess you get two. I may do this every so often just to share a photo or two. I like to scrap book when time permits so of course I take lots of pictures. A lot of them never get shared until maybe now.
These pictures were taken at the Harley Davidson factory in Pennsylvania (2007). That was one of my favorite factory tours ever.
A to do list a mile long
Just so you know what is on my mind when I am trying to sleep at night. At least I am trying to get a good night's sleep since I know there will be none of that in a few months.
Paint the entry way
Finish the storage closet
Re-tile the bathroom
Fix the tiles on the kitchen floor
Purchase new washer/dryer
Pick out a new light for entry way
Buy and Hang blinds in bedroom
Chalk basement windows
Fill cracks in garage floor
Oh yeah and then all this...
Empty the Spare Bedroom (soon to be nursery)
Move bed
Paint walls
Paint trim
Paint closet doors
Hang wainscoting
Paint wainscoting
Buy and hang new blinds
Hang shelves
Set up crib
Find a bookcase
Line dresser drawers w/contact paper
Plus... work 5 days/week/full time
Attend Birthing classes
Relax and put my swollen feet up
Drink lots of water
Enjoy every day and Smile!!
I am sure I am missing a bunch of stuff but I think that list is long enough for now.
I'll keep you posted as to what gets done and when.
I will take some before and after nursery photos to share as we are working on it.

A boy and his shoes...
About my Jeff...
Jeff and I have been dating for almost 8 years now, We met each other at a mutual friends birthday party in October 2002. We talked a lot at the party but never did we exchange numbers. I remember telling my friends and mom about Jeff the very next day and set a goal that I would contact the friends wife by the end of the week to inquire more about Jeff and hope to score his phone number. Little did I know he was thinking the same. My brother called me on Tuesday night and told me that the mutual friend of ours was just bugging him to get my number to give to Jeff. Sure enough that night he called me. I do not really remember our first conversation but we made plans to see each other that Thursday night. Jeff told me that he was playing pool Thursday night, it should not be a late night and he would call me when it was over. Funny thing is (which I found out later), was that Jeff went to pool that night and asked if he could play first so he could leave early. How sweet was that. The nice thing was that Jeff and I lived 2 blocks away from each other. I remember walking down to his house that evening. I brought over a movie to watch that night and we ended up talking thru the entire movie. We made plans to meet up again that Sunday night. That night we went to a movie (Red Dragon w/one of my favorite actors Edward Norton) and held hands during the entire movie. We then ended up at Lunds (a local grocery store) and Jeff asked what was my favorite. I of course said Italian (not one of his favorites come to find out later on) and he picked up all the ingredients and we went back to his place and he prepared a fabulous meal. I must say I was hooked. I was not letting him go anywhere.
Jeff is a wonderful guy (of course I am biased though). He is a strong individual with a big heart. I know he would do absolutely anything for me. We are the best of friends. We know how to make one another smile, we can laugh together and communicate well with one another. Jeff and I have done a lot and been though a lot with one another over these past years. I can not imagine my life without him. Thanks for being the one, babe!!
