First trip to Como Zoo

It has been a few weekends now since we went to Como Zoo. We had a great time. It was such a beautiful day. We met Chris and his three little ones (Caden, Lilly and Axel) there. It is so much fun. Caswell loved looking all around at the animals and all the people. Dad pretty much held onto Caswell the entire time to make sure he saw everything. It is so much fun to see things again like it is the first time with Caswell. I have shared that life slows you down when you have a baby but for a good reason, to appreciate all the little things in life that you tend to take for granted or miss in our fast paced world we live in. We had a great day! I hope life allows you to slow down and enjoy the little things.

I love how Caswell and Lilly are staring at one another.

This picture is adorable. I love how Caden is looking at his younger brother Axel. We made a pit stop so Chris could buy some popcorn.

What a big smile...I think he was having fun.

Here is Caswell checking out his buddy Axel. Axel was born about 6 weeks after Caswell.

Caden and Lilly being silly on the giraffes.

8 Months Old

It is hard to believe that only 4 months from now our little baby boy will be a year old. I never really paid much attention when people would say they grow up in a blink of an eye. Caswell is growing up & changes almost daily. He "talks" to us everyday and makes different sounds all the time. He loves playing with all of his toys (and Mr. B's (his cousins) toys too). I think he may be a motor head when he grows up. He loves to play with any type of vehicles and one of the first thing he does is turns them over and plays with the wheels. I swear the other day all he said was vrmm, vrmm. He loves taking stroller rides and he pays no attention to you when he is in the stroller as he is way to busy taking everything in. He loves to look all around and people watch and listen to all the cars going by. He is very giving with his smiles.
He is using a sippy cup with a straw more and more. He is eating all different types of baby foods and even some fun little snacks. He can use his hands and fingers really well to pick things up and pass them back and forth. As you can see he still only has his two bottom teeth. We think the top two may be breaking through soon.

Caswell is a lot more mobile now and did not want to stay still for me. Here he is moving all around his room. He is not crawling but he rolls over both ways and will scoot/shuffle backwards. He may be on the run sooner than later.

Mom and Dad love you so so much Caswell!!

And when it is not so nice outside...

we play inside.

or just lounge around.

It was so nice outside last Saturday...

we just had to play outside for a while.

Caswell loved discovering the grass for the first time.

Uncle Stevie even stopped over to play with Caswell and enjoy a beer and some good food.

Razel couldn't help but join us outside too.

My first haircut

You typically think that when your baby gets their first haircut, you would bring them to a children's haircutting place, they would sit in a fun chair just for kids and mom and/or dad would have the camera ready to take some pictures and you would leave with a little piece of hair.

Caswell had a different experience. I went away for the the day and received the following text.
"Mom, look at my first hair cut...Dad said it's $20 bucks + tip" along with the following pictures.

I called Jeff the minute I saw his message. Of course I asked What did you do? His reply of course, "What? I cut his hair?" I wanted to know how and with what and of course was Caswell scared. And then my next question was, "Did you save any if his hair?". So no hair, I was told it was all in the vacuum.

I did not get too upset but of course like any mom, you want to be there for all of your baby's firsts. At least we know know that we will save money on haircuts as Dad does a good job.

Here are some before shots...

And one more cute shot after his haircut...

This is what happens when I leave the room for 1 minute

Ok so TMI but I walked literally 10 steps out of Caswell's room to the bathroom just long enough to pee & wash my hands. Literally no longer than 1 minute. I left Caswell to play on his playmat to come back into his room & he was no where to be found.

Can you see where our little bugger bubs went???

Yes he was so happy & proud of himself. I could not stop smiling & laughing that he managed to scoot under his crib into the corner.
So what is a mom to do of course, but get the camera & take a few pictures.

To Target To Target To Buy A Fat Pig

Well not really...Caswell was having fun playing with Bullseye and the mini Target cart.
The saying above was one my dad always said to us kids whenever we went to Target. I am not quite sure where it come from but I still say it today and I am pretty sure Caswell will learn that one. We do go to target an awful lot.
